Life Is Good - Books

Feel stuck?  Stuck in your work, relationships and life for that matter.

The feeling of stuck-ness, is a place where nothing feels satisfying or fulfilling anymore. Everything feels mundane. There is no feeling of purpose.

Chihuahua
This sense of restlessness, uneasiness, and discomfort feels like a puppy humping our leg. We just can’t seem to shake it off.  We pace like a tiger in the zoo spending hours every day walking the perimeter of her area hoping to find a way out. We long for more, different, yet all of the expectations, obligations and responsibilities keep us locked up tight in our cage.

Of course you love your family and partners, yet there is just this thing hanging over your head. This feeling that there could be more. You yearn to feel content. This yearning keeps you up at night wondering what to do, and how to find the key to unlock the cage.

Could the key be rash decisions to just get out? Walk away? Leave everything behind? Would it feel better? Perhaps the key is time.

Taking the time to reflect and ask your self some really hard questions.

Will I regret leaving, closing my business?

Will I regret staying?

What will it look like in 5 years? 10 years? 20 years?

How do I feel about that image 5, 10, 20 years form now?

Have I given all that I can to change this situation?

TigerWhile listening for the answers from the core of your being start doing this:

Create a gratitude list.

Every day read your gratitude and add to it:

Create a page for each aspect of your life - your spouse, partners, friends, job, business, family and including the restless feeling.

Write down what you appreciate about each aspect.

Look beyond the money or lack of but the satisfaction for helping a client, the flexibility in your schedule, the paycheck, and the coworkers.

Recognizing and expressing gratitude for what we have in our life flips a switch. The restlessness, the stuck-ness are feelings of lack or feelings of not enough.  And there is more and you can have it. The key to get out of the lack or stuck feelings is to take a moment to recognize and reflect on what you have now rather than what is missing. Feel the peace filter through you and notice how the restlessness turns into inspired motivation.
