Women of These Hills: Female Artists of Appalachia Opens at TC Arts Council

The Transylvania Community Arts Council in Brevard, NC is proud to present the artwork of female artists living in Appalachia. The exhibit will be on display from May 28 - June 18.  Mediums include: fiber, clay, brooms, rugs, paintings, photography, sculpture, moss, wood, jewelry, baskets, glass and literature.  This art exhibit is being sponsored by Cocoon Interior Design & La Petite Spa.

 

There 56 artists on display for this exhibit. Tammy Hopkins, executive director of the TC Arts Council said, "We are excited to host this exhibit featuring our Appalachian mountain women and their artwork. And we are proud that the Blue Ridge Parkway has selected this event as an official event of their 75th Anniversary."  TC Arts will also host a traveling display on exhibit from the Blue Ridge Parkway in the gallery from June 1 thru June 8.

 

The TC Arts Council is located at 349 S. Caldwell Street in Brevard. The gallery is open Monday - Friday from 10 am - 4 pm and Saturdays by appointment.
