Historical Landmark Offers a Fresh Face to the Richmond Food Scene

Since the 18th century, locals and travelers alike have passed through The Hanover Tavern and Pub for various reasons. This unique Virginia Historical Landmark has been immaculately restored to reflect its original beauty with the purpose of preserving a page in history and serving the community a remarkable dining experience. Under the direction of owners Mr. Frank Bradley and Mr. Bob Bailie, and General Manager of Operations Sara Dickerson, the newly opened Hanover Tavern and Pub is a full service restaurant featuring elegant Southern Cuisine.

Utilizing fresh local ingredients, Executive Chef, Addison Hudson, and Sous Chef, Kyle Midgett, have created a menu that begs to be explored.  Highlights from our new menu include Pink Peppercorn Crusted Salmon over fingerling potatoes and Granny Smith apple hash, grilled asparagus with balsamic buerre blanc, Grilled Porter House Pork Chop over fig and butternut squash risotto, pan roasted Brussels sprouts with Makers Mark glaze, as well as a staple to any true Southern menu, Fried Green Tomatoes with house-made Vidalia onion jam. A casual dining menu is offered in the Pub for lighter fare. Delight in the vista from windows in the upper terrace or have a cozy dinner by a crackling fire in the Montgomery Room.  The Tavern is also an ideal place for private events. We cater to larger functions both indoors, in our beautiful historic rooms, and outdoors, on the spacious terrace with large tent. A destination restaurant, we boast a premier dining experience combined with a high level of cultural and educational value. Guided tours of the original facilities are available and quality entertainment is offered by the Barksdale in our intimate theater.  Hanover Tavern & Pub offers a special three course menu for diners attending the play.
