Doing a New Thing
by Doreen Washington
Sometimes giving attention to an old thing may have you worn, exhausted and at your wits’ ends. Its familiarity discourages you from exploring something new. The lack of enthusiasm causes you not to branch out into the unknown and paralyzes you from going out into the deep or doing a new thing.
Doing a new thing can be refreshing, can bring a new perspective on your existence and bring a breath of fresh air to your spirit. A new thing may lead you to an open door that may have been once closed. Don’t be afraid to try new things, explore new options and walk out on the water when it’s moving. Your faith will hold you up!
We have the authority to open or close those doors that prohibit and hinder us from growing and flourishing as women. Our stability, strength and resilience are the power that forces us to be great within – no matter what comes our way. This greatness is in the woman who controls her life, her situations, her obstacles and her hindrances – she handles and controls the things in her world – good or bad. Ladies understand we can not control others but only our situations, our obstacles and our hindrances.
Will we continue to be devastated by an old thing or will we think to do a new thing? This is our greatest potential. We may have been told that we haven’t amounted to much, can’t accomplish the things that we desire, and subsequently we begin to feel unfulfilled. Remember your worth, strength and vivaciousness which lies deep within. Pull it up and then out of you and begin to live life as if it’s new again.
Only you can pull this up and out! It’s not over until you say it’s over. Doing a new thing can be the beginning of doing a great thing! Enjoy the life that you have and work on doing things better for yourself as if you were working on that college paper or working on adorning your outward appearance. Look up and do a new thing! We as women are not quitters and we know how to bounce back from most things. Start fresh today and start now. It’s your time, your year, your race to face and your destiny to reach!! Enjoy who you are; being young, old, tall, short, thin or plus – you are beautiful and you are woman!! Do a new thing today!
