We Are Woman: The Heart of a Mother

The Heart of a Mother
How amazing is it that we have been given the opportunity to be mothers and to have mothers. We have been given the ability to love longer, love harder and be caregivers of our children - sometimes giving past the point of time.
The heart of a mother never runs dry. As our children or ourselves begin to disappoint those all around us and as we feel we have no one and nowhere to turn - we can always call upon our mothers and our children can always call upon us. The heart of a mother never runs out.
As mothers we often spend time running to and fro and not even having the time to think about what a blessing we have in being mothers and even having mothers. What a wonderful gift that we have been given to instill a wealth of knowledge, love, productiveness, character, integrity, honesty and a host of so many other qualities in our children, qualities that they will need in order to succeed in today's society. Whether we ever see the reward of this in our children or not, it is still a gift.
I can actually say this now after the raising three children, as I know many of you can agree with, as well. The best times are when we can reminisce on the training sessions of life that we were put through as children and that of putting our children through the same exercise - teaching them how to live independently and become self reliant; teaching forgiveness and gentleness; and teaching them how to go after dreams.
Let us remember that it is a joy, a privilege and certainly an honor to hold the title and description of a mother. You may have a child with whom your relationship is distant; you rarely see eye-to-eye on any topic of discussion - but remember that one day you will. You have touched their lives and it hasn't been in vein.
The heart of a mother is as wide as an ocean and our love runs very deep. Remember the life you gave to your children is the gift of life that was given to you by your mother, and see it as good. Enjoy your mother and the children you've mothered. You’re doing the work anyway, you might as well enjoy the ride! We are woman!
