We Are Woman: Wearing Faces

Wearing Faces
by Doreen Washington
As women most of us have to wear several different kinds of hats and remember our worth at the same time, but what about the many faces that we have to wear or put on? Have we had to change into someone else when we get around people? Have we allowed others to train us into the person that they believe we should be instead of who we believe we have become? Have we put on these different faces and become different women, unaware of even who we are?
It's been difficult for anyone to predict who we are, even those closest to us. Simply put – wearing many faces has caused us to become unreliable and unpredictable – even to ourselves. The hurts that we have experienced in life have caused us to mask who we really are and we find it most difficult to even look deep within ourselves to find out. We’re just not interested!
We have become accustomed to this person and even fearful to reveal the real person for fear of not being loved or for fear of being judged. Maybe it’s time that you love yourself and judge who you are.
Even the ugliest can be overcome and forgiven by you.
We are strong, vivacious and resilent women who have the ability to show ourselves as honest and true women, pushing toward our legacy. Our children, friends and family should know us for who we are and not for the facades that we have had to maintain.
This behavior isn't positive and it will begin to wear you down. Decide that no matter what, you will love who you are and work toward being a better woman – being true and honest to yourself first. I promise a load will lift and you will be able to grow and improve on you – making a happier you. Everyone in your world will be the beneficiaries of a better you – ones that’s free from the expectation that others place on us.
Train yourself and control your destiny, your freedom and who you are and you’ll never be the same again. Your face will show it! We Are Woman!
