Walk for the Symphony

In celebration of the re-opening of the Carpenter Theatre and CenterStage, the Richmond Symphony Orchestra League is presenting its first “Walk for the Symphony” through downtown Richmond. Walkers will begin their walk at CenterStage, travel up Grace Street to Allen Avenue, and then proceed down Monument Avenue back to CenterStage.
The 5K Walk will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009 with check-in beginning at 8 AM. Teams of 10 or more are being formed with each walker paying a registration fee of $20. Event organizers have set a goal of 3,000 walkers. Everyone can participate as walkers will walk at their own pace.
Leading the Walk will be Associate Director of the Richmond Symphony, Erin Freeman, who will be joined by some members of the Richmond Symphony and the Richmond Symphony Chorus.
As an extra benefit, walkers will have an opportunity to visit the new CenterStage following the Walk. Celebrate bringing the Symphony back downtown by joining the Walk to support your Richmond Symphony. Form a team or sign up individually.
