Brunswick Stew Dinner

Meal includes a bowl of Perly's famous brunswick stew, small salad, roll and beverage.

Eighth Annual Dog Jog and 5K Run

Saturday, March 20, 2010, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Robins-Starr Humane Center, Second Floor AuditoriumPlease join the Richmond SPCA for the Eighth Annual Dog Jog and 5K Run, sponsored by Car Pool Car Wash and Detail! Proceeds from this event support our lifesaving programs and services. Events run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and take place at the Richmond SPCA’s Robins-Starr Humane Center , located at 2519 Hermitage Road in Richmond , Virginia . The day’s festivities kick off with a competitive 5K run at 9:30 a.m., and a pet-friendly 1-mile Dog Jog follows at 11 a.m. A fun pet-friendly vendor fair featuring lots of cool vendors, kids activities and dog demonstrations is also featured. The fair is free of charge and open to everyone. In 2009, approximately 3,000 devoted animal lovers attended, and the event raised more than $108,000. We hope to see you there! Meeting in the Middle: Boomers Mentoring Youth

This new local initiative seeks adults 45+ who are interested in making a difference in the lives of 6th graders. Volunteers can be matched with youth in 1:1 placements, work with small groups, assist with enrichment activities after school, and/or participate in a one-day volunteer project. “Project Single Moms”

"Project Single Moms" is a National Advocacy & Empowerment Movement established in 2007 designed to empower, educate, engage, energize, equip and enhance the quality of life for single mothers and their children.  It is a movement that is run by single mothers who are focused on this mission. Membership is free and open to single moms from all socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds.
Currently, we have an affiliate in Newport News Virginia, with a local affiliate starting soon in the Tri-Cities/Richmond area. VCU Medical Center Lectures
The VCU Medical Center features physicians who talk about current topics in health care. This is a great opportunity to meet, listen to and ask questions of our doctors in a casual, informal setting.
